An unexpectedly hard shot by Agnaldo Fernandez in the 6th minute of play forced EB F.C's goalkeeper Vito de Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 8 minutes, Olívio da Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. EB F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olívio da Fonseca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 12 minutes into the match, Benjamin Sampaio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luiz Gustavo de Souza. Laguinho's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Benjamin Sampaio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Olívio da Fonseca in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luiz Gustavo de Souza saved Laguinho from getting behind. Vito de Sousa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Agnaldo Fernandez's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Arnaldo Salgado's late challenge caught a EB F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arnaldo Salgado helped the player get up and apologised. Agnaldo Fernandez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Vito de Sousa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benjamin Sampaio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luiz Gustavo de Souza having to make a save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Agnaldo Fernandez to make the kick off. When the match clock showed 54 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Luís Paulo Mandrak sped through EB F.C's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Vito de Sousa. Luís Paulo Mandrak might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vito de Sousa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luís Paulo Mandrak ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 61st minute, Agnaldo Fernandez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Laguinho booed when EB F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexsandro Carvalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Olívio da Fonseca struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Luiz Gustavo de Souza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for EB F.C. In the 72nd match minute, EB F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dedé Neto to maneuver through the defense. Agnaldo Fernandez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vito de Sousa acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 82nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Edvaldo Neto. 86 minutes into the game, Alexsandro Carvalho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. EB F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Laguinho the free kick. After a rather tough play, EB F.C's Alexsandro Carvalho got a free kick in the 87th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luís Paulo Mandrak got free with Vito de Sousa in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of EB F.C booed when Laguinho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agnaldo Fernandez didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Olívio da Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot. EB F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Olívio da Fonseca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Gustavo de Souza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Benjamin Sampaio took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luiz Gustavo de Souza. Luiz Gustavo de Souza dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2.
