In the 27th minute Jarbas de Alcântara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agnaldo Chaves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luís Fábio Leal during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Matias Abbondanzieri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dorival Pires in the 39th minute of the match. In the 40th minute, Maurício de Souza left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vila Jacui fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. When Emanuele Caccia came up free with the goalie in the 50th minute, the Jaguaré FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emanuele Caccia couldn't finish the play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 54thth minute of the game Maurício de Souza who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jaguaré FC's Matias Abbondanzieri was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Jaguaré FC booed when Vila Jacui was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivo Negri didn't get a good kick on the ball. Matias Abbondanzieri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felippe Lira, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. In the 82nd minute, Felippe Lira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Matias Abbondanzieri was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Maurício de Souza spun around in front of the goal 87 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Jaguaré FC's goal. Emanuele Caccia might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Agnaldo Chaves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Emanuele Caccia ran back to his position shaking his head. If Jarbas de Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jaguaré FC may have spent more time on the ball, but Vila Jacui were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
