The referee ignored Villa FC's protests and gave Carlos Alberto Zonta a yellow card for diving instead. Carlos Alberto Zonta kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. In the 11th minute Carlos Alberto Zonta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Augusto Duarte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zé Augusto Duarte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudinei Vaz in the 20th minute of the match. Zé Augusto Duarte showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Alberto Zonta, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. A collision led to Villa FC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Davi de Salles hit a great ball. Sydney de Senna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruninho de Queirós having to interfere. Carlos Alberto Zonta got his second yellow card in the match during the 27th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Ibuguacu booed when Villa FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Alberto Zonta didn't get a good kick on the ball. 30 minutes into the match, Ibuguacu's goal looked a bit too open when Claudinei Vaz came free, but Zé Augusto Duarte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Ibuguacu's zone, Claudinei Vaz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zé Augusto Duarte came out of the goal and Claudinei Vaz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 39th minute, Luan Bertassi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ricardinho Novaes kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Amílton Ceresso hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Claudinei Vaz got free with Zé Augusto Duarte in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Claudinei Vaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claudinei Vaz's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Zé Augusto Duarte firmly grabbed it by the left post. With a little luck, Ibuguacu's Zé Augusto Duarte got control of the ball when Claudinei Vaz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Claudinei Vazs short, quick shot in the 76thth minute got Zé Augusto Duarte to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Zé Augusto Duarte made an important save on a dangerous shot by Claudinei Vaz in the 85th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Claudinei Vaz got free with Zé Augusto Duarte in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Ibuguacu's Zé Augusto Duarte got control of the ball when Claudinei Vaz tried to sneak it across the goal line. With his leg Zé Augusto Duarte managed to avoid a goal in the 90thth minute, when Villa FC's Claudinei Vaz fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Elder Antunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sydney de Senna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Villa FC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
