The supporters of Brejal booed when Guub United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wágner Zonta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paulão Marques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mário Araújo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Guub United's Levente Majer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Guub United from getting a goal against them. Levente Majer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juan Sabóia in the 29th minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, Mário Araújo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paulão Marques. Brejal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mário Araújo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 34th minute of the match Guub United got a corner. Brejal's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mário Araújo ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Guub United's Mário Araújo to fire away a dangerous shot which Paulão Marques despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Luís Gustavo Marques hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Paulão Marques stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sérgio Velloso's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Paulão Marques made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mário Araújo in the 38th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Guub United's goalkeeper Levente Majer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paulo dos Santos. Paulo dos Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Brejal players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Guub United were winning 0-2.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paulo dos Santos in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Levente Majer saved Guub United from getting behind. Régis de Moraes hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match.
