A collision led to Nordestão Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Renato de Andrade hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Nordestão Futebol Clube's zone, Dino Esteves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gil Carioca came out of the goal and Dino Esteves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Grzegorz Danisiewicz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil Carioca having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dino Esteves got free with Gil Carioca in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Quarahy getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Luís Fabiano de Amorim hit a great ball. Dino Estevess short, quick shot in the 37thth minute got Gil Carioca to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Grzegorz Danisiewicz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Gil Carioca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 41 minutes into the match, Nordestão Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Gil Carioca had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dino Esteves. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Nordestão Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Gil Carioca, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 46 minutes, Dino Esteves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Quarahy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dino Esteves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Dino Esteves blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gil Carioca having to make a save. Aílton Loyola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 68th play minutes Dino Esteves shot 3-1, a short shot which went by Gil Carioca and just under the crossbar into goal. Dino Esteves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. The supporters of Nordestão Futebol Clube booed when Quarahy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dino Esteves didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Quarahy had played much better football throughout.
