Toninho Barbosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. André Luís dos Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guto Guerra in the 14th minute of play. In the 17th minute, Hélio Souto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. André Luís dos Santos was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Frederico Vinhas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Luís Fábio Vasconcelos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Frederico Vinhas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 26 minutes into the game, Aesthetics's Hélio Souto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. André Luís dos Santos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In a very dangerous position, a player in Aesthetics fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 29th minute. Penalty! Daniel Matorin was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 35 minutes into the match. In the 35th minute, one of Aesthetics:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Aesthetics. 44 minutes into the match, Aesthetics's goalkeeper Luís Fábio Vasconcelos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Frederico Vinhas. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

After a defensive mix-up in Guatapara's zone, Guto Guerra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. André Luís dos Santos came out of the goal and Guto Guerra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Frederico Vinhas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luís Fábio Vasconcelos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arthur Massa, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. After some careless play in the Aesthetics defense, Arthur Massa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luís Fábio Vasconcelos. The Aesthetics fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luís Fábio Vasconcelos should have stopped the shot. After 67 minutes, Edson Mota mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guatapara and the Aesthetics players grew even worse after the yellow card. André Luís dos Santos made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Magno Ortiz sent off a good shot on target. When Arthur Massa came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Guatapara fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arthur Massa couldn't finish the play. José Paulo Moreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fábio Vasconcelos having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Fernando Peres in the 82nd minute of play forced Aesthetics's goalkeeper Luís Fábio Vasconcelos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Guatapara's André Luís dos Santos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Guatapara from getting a goal against them. An unexpected shot in the 89th minute by Hélio Souto got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Carlos Fernando Peres recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 95 minutes of play, Aesthetics's Guto Guerra made it 3-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. André Luís dos Santos was left in no man's land by his defense there! Despite being the better team, Guatapara failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
