Luís Fábio Vasconcelos made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Luís Paulo Fonseca sent off a good shot on target. Smashing PumpkinS's Dráusio de Queirós proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Smashing PumpkinS from getting a goal against them. 82 minutes into the match, Aesthetics's goal looked a bit too open when Adriano Monteiro came free, but Luís Fábio Vasconcelos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 87 minutes into the match, Smashing PumpkinS's goalkeeper Dráusio de Queirós had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hélio Souto. Luís Fábio Vasconcelos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Válbson Alves in the 93rd minute of play. The supporters of Smashing PumpkinS booed when Aesthetics was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hélio Souto didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Aesthetics eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
