Walmir Reis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caetano Maciel, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cássio Zago during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of G. LINS 4EVER booed when Fortaleza Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cássio Zago didn't get a good kick on the ball. Murilo de Salles kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Walmir Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Murilo de Salles in the 21st minute of play. In the 32nd minute Murilo de Salles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walmir Reis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Betinho Bezerra hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. After 44 minutes of play, G. LINS 4EVER's Murilo de Salles made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Walmir Reis was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of G. LINS 4EVER booed when Fortaleza Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. William Couto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rui Arantes to make the kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Luiz Fabiano Soeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fortaleza Esporte Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Fabiano Soeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Alfredão Neto fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored G. LINS 4EVER's protests and gave Alfredão Neto a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of G. Walmir Reis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Walmir Reis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jardel Pinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jardel Pinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. G. LINS 4EVER's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
