But to his dismay, Hílton Abraão quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. After 24 played minutes block monster sc got a freekick which was hit by Joel de Souza. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joel de Souza got free with Walmir Reis in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Fortaleza Esporte Clube getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Luiz Fabiano Soeiro hit a great ball. Fortaleza Esporte Clube's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Joel de Souza 34 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 4-0. Walmir Reis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cléberson Hermes, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. After 38 played minutes Fortaleza Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Maurício Sarmento. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel de Souza in the 43rd minute of play forced Fortaleza Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Walmir Reis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 48 minutes into the match, Ramón Nunes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Walmir Reis. Fortaleza Esporte Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ramón Nunes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Maurício Sarmento to strike the kick off in the second half. Remo Linhares hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Fortaleza Esporte Clube's Walmir Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramón Nunes in the 56th minute of play. Walmir Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hílton Abraão in the 59th minute of play. 59 minutes in the game, Hílton Abraão dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Walmir Reis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cléberson Hermes in the 61st minute of the match. In the 61st minute, Rui Arantes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 65 minutes into the match, Fortaleza Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Lauro Trigo came free, but Walmir Reis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute Joel de Souza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walmir Reis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
