The supporters of Fortaleza Esporte Clube booed when Braian Fagundes Craque was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Waldemar Vieira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tiaguinho Vasconcelos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rui Arantes in the 20th minute of the match. When Bora Bill came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Braian Fagundes Craque fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bora Bill couldn't finish the play. Fortaleza Esporte Clube's Walmir Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Norberto Peres in the 47th minute of play. When Cássio Zago fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fortaleza Esporte Clube's protests and gave Cássio Zago a yellow card for diving instead. In the 47th minute, Cássio Zago hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rui Arantes was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Norberto Peres made a precise shot to the right of Walmir Reis. Fortaleza Esporte Clube's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. Bora Bill's late challenge caught a Fortaleza Esporte Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bora Bill helped the player get up and apologised. In the 61st minute, Bora Bill hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Bora Bill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Norberto Peres's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Walmir Reis was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Norberto Peres managed to get in a good position for a shot. Braian Fagundes Craque's supporters rose to their feet, but Norberto Peres was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Walmir Reis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bora Bill received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Walmir Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Walmir Reis came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Braian Fagundes Craque's Bora Bill. But to his dismay, Bora Bill quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-1. After a rather tough play, Fortaleza Esporte Clube's Cássio Zago got a free kick in the 80th minute. When Braian Fagundes Craque's Norberto Peres in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Norberto Peres in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Walmir Reis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Walmir Reis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bora Bill in the 91st minute of the match. Walmir Reis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enoch Harrington, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Norberto Peres scored 7-1 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Walmir Reis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
