A collision led to Criciúma getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Bras Ordoñez hit a great ball. 8 minutes into the match, Criciúma's goal looked a bit too open when Gilmar Corrêa came free, but José de Brito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 10th minute Criciúma were awarded a corner. Luizão de Senna went to the cornerflag to take it. The referee felt a red card was in order, 13 minutes into the game, when Felipe Tande put in a rough tackle. Sambô Laion FC:s Cauã Fernandez showed great skill when he stopped Luizão de Senna:s penalty. Cauã Fernandez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmondo Sarnelli, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 25th minute, Criciúma's Tobias Tham dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 30th minute, Edmondo Sarnelli left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Criciúma fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henry Hammen in the 36th minute of play forced Criciúma's goalkeeper José de Brito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41st minute, Boniel Mayor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tobias Tham came free with the goalkeeper in the 43rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Cauã Fernandez could save by the left post. Wellington Duarte kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. In the 48th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sambô Laion FC's goalkeeper Cauã Fernandez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.

The wind increased when Tobias Tham made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Tobias Tham cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Cauã Fernandez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 58th minute, Magno Figueiredo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 59th minute, Boniel Mayor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Guga Teles's late challenge caught a Criciúma's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sambô Laion FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edmondo Sarnelli was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. After a rather tough play, Sambô Laion FC's Magno Figueiredo got a free kick in the 80th minute. Luizão de Senna shot a long shot in the 81st minute and a light blocked Cauã Fernandez hadn't a chance when the ball went into goal on his right side. It was 6-0. Tobias Tham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Cauã Fernandez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cauã Fernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmondo Sarnelli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gilmar Corrêa charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gilmar Corrêa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Sambô Laion FC getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Gilmar Corrêa hit a great ball. Criciúma's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
