With a couple of smart ball manuevers José Maria Breckenfeld in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Silvinho de Toledo saved Sorriso Esporte Clube from getting behind. In the 46thth minute of the game Giovanni Marques who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Frecheira EC's Oscar-Alfredo van der Sar was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Oscar-Alfredo van der Sar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giovanni Marques, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. In the 70th minute, Amado Bañados hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Eduardo Baptista in the 71st minute of play forced Frecheira EC's goalkeeper Oscar-Alfredo van der Sar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Frecheira EC fans' excitement grew in the 77th match minute when Frecheira EC's Dorival Toscano looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 92 minutes into the match, Frecheira EC's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastião Cardoso came free, but Oscar-Alfredo van der Sar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 94 minutes into the game, Giovanni Marques cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-5. Oscar-Alfredo van der Sar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Frecheira EC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
