The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Lokomotiva F.C. booed when Sambô Laion FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilmar Corrêa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 5th minute, Juarês Melo had to leave the field with a concussion. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guga Teles during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Lokomotiva F.C. made a substitution. Luís Fábio Pinheiro replaced Juarês Melo. After 7 played minutes Sambô Laion FC got a freekick which was hit by Guga Teles. When Sambô Laion FC's Wellington Duarte in 11 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Fellipe Dracena guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. In the 15th minute, Gilmar Corrêa made a precise shot to the right of Fellipe Dracena. Lokomotiva F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Fellipe Dracena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilmar Corrêa, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Fellipe Dracena came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Sambô Laion FC's Gilmar Corrêa. But to his dismay, Gilmar Corrêa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Lokomotiva F.C.'s Fellipe Dracena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Twan Schmidt in the 39th minute of play. The supporters of Lokomotiva F.C. booed when Sambô Laion FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felipe Tande didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Waldemar Varela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Lokomotiva F.C. made a substitution. Frédson Mello replaced Paulo Renato Carneiro. An unexpectedly hard shot by Magno Figueiredo in the 56th minute of play forced Lokomotiva F.C.'s goalkeeper Fellipe Dracena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fellipe Dracena made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gilmar Corrêa in the 57th minute. Frédson Mello's late challenge caught a Sambô Laion FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Frédson Mello helped the player get up and apologised. Gilmar Corrêa might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fellipe Dracena. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gilmar Corrêa ran back to his position shaking his head. Gilmar Corrêa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Fellipe Dracena came out and tried to block the shot, but Gilmar Corrêa slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 65th minute. Cauã Fernandez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rogério Fantini in the 69th minute of play. In the 74th minute, Twan Schmidt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Lokomotiva F.C. defense, Gilmar Corrêa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fellipe Dracena. The Lokomotiva F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fellipe Dracena should have stopped the shot. With his leg Fellipe Dracena managed to avoid a goal in the 81stth minute, when Sambô Laion FC's Magno Figueiredo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wellington Duarte got free with Fellipe Dracena in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dito Tinoco took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fellipe Dracena. Fellipe Dracena dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. Fellipe Dracena made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wellington Duarte in the 90th minute. Waldemar Varela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cauã Fernandez having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Lokomotiva F.C.'s zone, Magno Figueiredo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fellipe Dracena came out of the goal and Magno Figueiredo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
