When the match clock showed 22 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Cristián Montes sped through Phoenix FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Silvério Furtado. 26 minutes into the match, Phoenix FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Leal came free, but Silvério Furtado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
