An unexpectedly hard shot by Genílson Baptista in the 6th minute of play forced RJMARTINS's goalkeeper Nelsinho Marquez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nelsinho Marquez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Genílson Baptista, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. In the 14th match minute, RJMARTINS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Serafim Massa to maneuver through the defense. Genílson Baptista recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Toninho Massa hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. With his leg Durvalino Bittencourt managed to avoid a goal in the 26thth minute, when RJMARTINS's Thomás Santos fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 29 minutes into the match, RJMARTINS's goal looked a bit too open when Anselmo Salles came free, but Nelsinho Marquez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 31 minutes, Cléber Goiano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the A.D. Ponte Mirim and the RJMARTINS players grew even worse after the yellow card. Cléber Goiano hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. RJMARTINS's Tiago Gabriel Sena couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for A.D. Ponte Mirim. Gugu Maranhense's late challenge caught a RJMARTINS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gugu Maranhense helped the player get up and apologised. Gugu Maranhense kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in RJMARTINS's zone, Genílson Baptista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nelsinho Marquez came out of the goal and Genílson Baptista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 45th minute Genílson Baptista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nelsinho Marquez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anselmo Salles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nelsinho Marquez having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Cléber Goiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nelsinho Marquez was out of position in the 64 minute of play, and Genílson Baptista capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Genílson Baptista really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. In the 68th minute, RJMARTINS's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Genílson Baptista fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Cléber Goiano kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Dedé Dantas struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Durvalino Bittencourt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for RJMARTINS. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Thomás Santos put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Durvalino Bittencourt. Anselmo Salless short, quick shot in the 86thth minute got Nelsinho Marquez to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 88 minutes into the match, RJMARTINS's goalkeeper Nelsinho Marquez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anselmo Salles. Thomás Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Durvalino Bittencourt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nelsinho Marquez made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when Anselmo Salles sent off a good shot on target. Despite being the better team, RJMARTINS failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
