A.D. Ponte Mirim's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Maicon Couto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. If Genílson Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Renan de Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Genílson Baptista, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. The supporters of Thor F.C. booed when A.D. Ponte Mirim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emerson Sergipano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maicon Couto who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 26thth minute tested the skills of Durvalino Bittencourt when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 28th minute of the match Leonardo Rossi sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Renan de Lima skillfully saved the ball. Durvalino Bittencourt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Maicon Couto's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. After a defensive mix-up in A.D. Ponte Mirim's zone, Maicon Couto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Durvalino Bittencourt came out of the goal and Maicon Couto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Genílson Baptista in the 40th minute of play forced Thor F.C.'s goalkeeper Renan de Lima to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Renan de Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Genílson Baptista, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Anselmo Salles might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Renan de Lima. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Anselmo Salles ran back to his position shaking his head. Thor F.C.'s Renan de Lima played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Genílson Baptista in the 44th minute of play. In the 45th match minute, Thor F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafa Neto to maneuver through the defense. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
