After 20 played minutes Barra Futebol e Samba got a freekick which was hit by Cipriano Paraíba. An unexpectedly hard shot by Glauco Pinho in the 25th minute of play forced E.C.Bahia's goalkeeper Wilson Silva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wilson Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedrão Sousa in the 26th minute of play. A collision led to Barra Futebol e Samba getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Silas Romero hit a great ball. Pedrão Sousa took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wilson Silva. Wilson Silva dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 35th minute Cláudio Godoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Silva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 36th minute, Gustavo Dracena made a precise shot to the right of Wilson Silva. E.C.Bahia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Silas Romero made a kick off. A collision led to E.C.Bahia getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Barra Futebol e Samba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave E.C.Bahia the free kick. In the 56th minute, one of Barra Futebol e Samba:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Barra Futebol e Samba. Arnaldo Alves shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Silas Romero got free with Wilson Silva in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the E.C.Bahia defense, Silas Romero kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilson Silva. The E.C.Bahia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilson Silva should have stopped the shot. Glauco Pinho received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Wilson Silva came out and tried to block the shot, but Glauco Pinho slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 64th minute. Gustavo Dracena might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wilson Silva. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gustavo Dracena ran back to his position shaking his head. Wilson Silva acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 70th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Gilvan Marques. Barra Futebol e Samba's Enio Vargas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raphael Vergílio in the 71st minute of play. Gustavo Dracena succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-5 in the 76th playminute. E.C.Bahia's Wilson Silva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save E.C.Bahia from getting a goal against them. When Pedrão Sousa fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Barra Futebol e Samba's protests and gave Pedrão Sousa a yellow card for diving instead. Enio Vargas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raphael Vergílio in the 86th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gustavo Dracena during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gustavo Dracena kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Arnaldo Alves's late challenge caught a Barra Futebol e Samba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arnaldo Alves helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, E.C.Bahia's Arnaldo Alves got a free kick in the 96th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Barra Futebol e Samba's Glauco Pinho slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Wilson Silva. That made the score 1-6 after 99 minutes of play. The E.C.Bahia fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Barra Futebol e Samba were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
