Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) A.D. Ponte Mirim's Genílson Baptista started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4thth minute of the game Víktor Ferreira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but A.D. Ponte Mirim's Durvalino Bittencourt was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luís Guilherme Lara hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. In the 6th minute, Manteninha's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Anselmo Salles fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When Genílson Baptista came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the A.D. Ponte Mirim fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Genílson Baptista couldn't finish the play. The supporters of A.D. Ponte Mirim booed when Manteninha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Noel Zonta didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 12th minute of the match A.D. Ponte Mirim got a corner. Manteninha's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Leonardo Rossi ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on A.D. Ponte Mirim's corner Leonardo Rossi fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Geovânio Rosado quite easily take care of the ball. Leonardo Rossi hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Patrick Dantas kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. In the 22nd minute of the match Leonardo Rossi shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Geovânio Rosado showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 24th match minute, Manteninha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Guilherme Lara to maneuver through the defense. After 29 minutes, Genílson Baptista made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Manteninha's Geovânio Rosado tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Cléber Goiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Manteninha's Geovânio Rosado got control of the ball when Anselmo Salles tried to sneak it across the goal line. Emerson Sergipano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Geovânio Rosado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Genílson Baptista, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Anselmo Salles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geovânio Rosado having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cléberson Faria in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Durvalino Bittencourt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Geovânio Rosado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Genílson Baptista, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

If Afonso Terra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Víktor Ferreira in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Durvalino Bittencourt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to A.D. Ponte Mirim getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Emerson Sergipano hit a great ball. A.D. Ponte Mirim's Durvalino Bittencourt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save A.D. Ponte Mirim from getting a goal against them. Genílson Baptista struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Geovânio Rosado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for A.D. Ponte Mirim. Manteninha's Cléberson Faria got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 80th minute, Víktor Ferreira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Afonso Terra blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Durvalino Bittencourt having to make a save. Víktor Ferreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Cléberson Faria managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manteninha's supporters rose to their feet, but Cléberson Faria was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Durvalino Bittencourt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpected shot in the 91st minute by Luís Guilherme Lara got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Genílson Baptista might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Geovânio Rosado. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Genílson Baptista ran back to his position shaking his head. Manteninha's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
