The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustavo Dracena in the 6th minute of play forced A.D. Ponte Mirim's goalkeeper Durvalino Bittencourt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedrão Sousa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Durvalino Bittencourt having to make a save. A collision led to A.D. Ponte Mirim getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Yuri Monteiro hit a great ball. After 17 played minutes Barra Futebol e Samba got a freekick which was hit by Naldo Couto. Leonardo Rossi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to A.D. Ponte Mirim getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Emerson Sergipano hit a great ball. The supporters of Barra Futebol e Samba booed when A.D. Ponte Mirim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emerson Sergipano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gustavo Dracena blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Durvalino Bittencourt having to make a save. When Barra Futebol e Samba's Silas Romero in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye A.D. Ponte Mirim's goalie prevented a goal. Cléber Goiano charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cléber Goiano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When Barra Futebol e Samba's Gustavo Dracena in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye A.D. Cláudio Godoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Gustavo Dracena could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Durvalino Bittencourt made a huge save. Gustavo Dracena struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Durvalino Bittencourt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barra Futebol e Samba. Durvalino Bittencourt came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by Barra Futebol e Samba's Pedrão Sousa. But to his dismay, Pedrão Sousa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 63 minutes into the game, Barra Futebol e Samba's Gustavo Dracena nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Durvalino Bittencourt made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Glauco Pinho struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Durvalino Bittencourt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barra Futebol e Samba. With a little luck, A.D. Ponte Mirim's Durvalino Bittencourt got control of the ball when Gustavo Dracena tried to sneak it across the goal line. Enio Vargas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anselmo Salles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 80 minutes, Glauco Pinho took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Durvalino Bittencourt to make any attempt to save it. After a rather tough play, Barra Futebol e Samba's Cláudio Godoi got a free kick in the 86th minute. 88 minutes in the game, Gustavo Dracena fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Durvalino Bittencourt having to interfere. The A.D. Ponte Mirim fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Barra Futebol e Samba were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
