The referee gave Parque Gramado FC a penalty, 45 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Franklin Pombal, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Vulcanos's Cristiano Petito. 3-2. After 48 minutes, Glauco Cabral mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Parque Gramado FC and the Vulcanos players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Parque Gramado FC getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Glauco Cabral hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mané Pimenta to strike the kick off in the second half. Daniel Cearense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mané Pimenta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Mané Pimenta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nilson Jacinto during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Parque Gramado FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Israel Lages was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-2. After a defensive mix-up in Parque Gramado FC's zone, Mané Pimenta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daniel Cearense came out of the goal and Mané Pimenta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 80th minute, Israel Lages got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Parque Gramado FC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Glauco Cabral hit a great ball. Mané Pimenta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mané Pimenta in the 92nd minute of play forced Parque Gramado FC's goalkeeper Daniel Cearense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Israel Lages might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Daniel Cearense. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Israel Lages ran back to his position shaking his head.
