But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gildo Fernandes couldn't finish the play. Válbson Velloso came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Atlético Blumenauense FC's Dalmo Bittencourt. But to his dismay, Dalmo Bittencourt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After having played for 31 minutes, Augusto Maciel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jacovense's supporters crossed their fingers, but Augusto Maciel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zeferino Leite made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augusto Maciel in the 36th minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Zé Roberto Vidal dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Válbson Velloso, 2-1. Dênis Luz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Atlético Blumenauense FC's Zeferino Leite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Augusto Maciel in the 47th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

After 53 minutes, Gildo Fernandes made it 3-1 with a short kick to the right side. Jacovense's Válbson Velloso tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Atlético Blumenauense FC booed when Jacovense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Virgílio Rocha didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Jacovense's Francisco Leão tried to score from far away in the 62nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dênis Luz got free with Zeferino Leite in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Atlético Blumenauense FC's Ezequiel Ribeiro got a free kick in the 68th minute. Dênis Luz in the 69thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Zeferino Leite, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 74th minute Dalmo Bittencourt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Válbson Velloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 75th minute, Zé Roberto Vidal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Atlético Blumenauense FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. In the 83rd match minute, Jacovense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Aparecido to maneuver through the defense. Gildo Fernandes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Válbson Velloso having to interfere. Atlético Blumenauense FC's Ezequiel Ribeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Jacovense's zone, Dalmo Bittencourt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Válbson Velloso came out of the goal and Dalmo Bittencourt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dênis Luz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeferino Leite having to interfere. Válbson Velloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dalmo Bittencourt, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. In the 97th minute of the match Erivaldo Santos sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Válbson Velloso skillfully saved the ball. Atlético Blumenauense FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
