In the 14th minute, Hélio Damião got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 17th minute Severino Teles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dênis Prestes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Natã Sanches sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A very good chance. Júlio Silveira charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Júlio Silveira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 34 played minutes Acarahu EC got a freekick which was hit by Júlio Silveira. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Severino Teles in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dênis Prestes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Acarahu EC getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Augusto Tavares hit a great ball. When União flasco's Natã Sanches in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Natã Sanches in the 45th minute of play forced Acarahu EC's goalkeeper Dênis Prestes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dênis Prestes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frederico de Brito in the 46th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Natã Sanches stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dênis Prestes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Natã Sanches, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Natã Sanches in the 57th minute of play forced Acarahu EC's goalkeeper Dênis Prestes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dênis Prestes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Natã Sanches in the 59th minute of play. In the 61st play minute Severino Teles came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Dênis Prestes. 0-1. Natã Sanches's late challenge caught a Acarahu EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Natã Sanches helped the player get up and apologised. Natã Sanches hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Dênis Prestes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Severino Teles went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Dênis Prestes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Natã Sanches, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Acarahu EC's Aloísio Quirino got a free kick in the 79th minute. Natã Sanches received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Dênis Prestes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 85 minutes into the game, Gilmar de Godoi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Acarahu EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave União flasco the free kick.
