In the 16th minute, Rastro Sertanejo F.C.'s Vladimir Barros ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Luiz Fábio Zonta. Luiz Fábio Zonta yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vladimir Barros got free with Luiz Fábio Zonta in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Walmyr Fonseca kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Luisão Travassos was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 23rd minute. Rastro Sertanejo F.C.'s manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Genílson Barral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Piraputanga. In the 56th minute Válter Nóbrega shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Genílson Barral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Piraputanga's Luiz Fábio Zonta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vladimir Barros in the 59th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Rastro Sertanejo F.C.'s zone, Elias Lucas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Genílson Barral came out of the goal and Elias Lucas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Válter Nóbrega had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Luiz Fábio Zonta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudinei Alvarenga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Genílson Barral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Válter Nóbrega, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Rastro Sertanejo F.C.'s zone, Elias Lucas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Genílson Barral came out of the goal and Elias Lucas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With his leg Genílson Barral managed to avoid a goal in the 82ndth minute, when Piraputanga's Elias Lucas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.
