One of GRASSHOPPERS F.C:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Zahariz FC:s goal. In the 20th minute Leopoldo Gerber shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudinho Castro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Alan Tande fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GRASSHOPPERS F.C's protests and gave Alan Tande a yellow card for diving instead. In the 21st minute, Alan Tande hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Anísio Sena recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 26th minute Anísio Sena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudinho Castro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, GRASSHOPPERS F.C's Erik Pitta got a free kick in the 27th minute. 33 minutes into the match, GRASSHOPPERS F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Luizão de Mendonça came free, but Claudinho Castro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute, Anísio Sena made a precise shot to the right of Claudinho Castro. GRASSHOPPERS F.C's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Claudinho Castro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leopoldo Gerber in the 43rd minute of play. Claudinho Castro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leopoldo Gerber's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. In the 47th minute, Pedrão Motta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leopoldo Gerber stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Zahariz FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pedrão de Sena came free, but Rui Liberato reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. GRASSHOPPERS F.C's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Pedrão de Sena in the 54th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Zahariz FC's goalie and right to Alan Tande. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Zahariz FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Claudinho Castro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leopoldo Gerber, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 60 played minutes Zahariz FC got a freekick which was hit by Edgar Guimarães. In the 61st minute of the match Pedrão de Sena sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rui Liberato skillfully saved the ball. When LeBron Jordán came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Zahariz FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that LeBron Jordán couldn't finish the play. In the 72nd minute, Zahariz FC's Anísio Sena ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Claudinho Castro. Claudinho Castro yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. The supporters of Zahariz FC booed when GRASSHOPPERS F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isaltino Furlan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the GRASSHOPPERS F.C defense, Leopoldo Gerber kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Claudinho Castro. The GRASSHOPPERS F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Claudinho Castro should have stopped the shot. Leopoldo Gerber's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 83rdth minute, Claudinho Castro skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 86 minutes into the match, GRASSHOPPERS F.C's goalkeeper Claudinho Castro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leopoldo Gerber. Claudinho Castro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luizão de Mendonça, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Zahariz FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
