Leandro da Rocha made an important save on a dangerous shot by José Maria Ribeiro in the 5th minute. Urandy's Leandro da Rocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquim Dracena in the 11th minute of play. Ulysses Magalhães kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. The supporters of SportClub Laranja Mecanic booed when Urandy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivo Simão didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19th minute, Francisco Siqueira made a precise shot to the right of Leandro da Rocha. Urandy's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. With an all-out effort, SportClub Laranja Mecanic's Leandro da Rocha threw himself towards the right post 22 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luís Eduardo Santos, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. A collision led to Urandy getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Celsinho da Rocha hit a great ball. Urandy's Leandro da Rocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Eduardo Santos in the 25th minute of play. If Renato Prado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd minute Joaquim Dracena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leandro da Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 40 minutes into the game, Renato Prado was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Urandy's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SportClub Laranja Mecanic the free kick. Renato Prado kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. When Severino Mineiro fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Urandy's protests and gave Severino Mineiro a yellow card for diving instead. In the 42nd minute, Severino Mineiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Renato Prado hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Renato Prado to make the kick off. Ulysses Magalhães recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vicente Valadares kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Urandy's João Pedro Nogueira got a free kick in the 60th minute. Celsinho da Rocha charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Celsinho da Rocha the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Leandro da Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquim Dracena in the 66th minute of play. If José Maria Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joaquim Dracena in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leandro da Rocha saved Urandy from getting behind. A collision led to Urandy getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Tarcisio Penha hit a great ball. Tiago Gabriel Garcia struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Leandro da Rocha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SportClub Laranja Mecanic. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 83rd minute of the game. One of SportClub Laranja Mecanic:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Urandy:s goal. When the match had been going on for 85 minutes, Urandy's Maicon de Lara got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Falcão Meireles. A hard shot 90 in the game by Tarcisio Penha from a close distance when the talented Falcão Meireles managed to make a qualified save. SportClub Laranja Mecanic's players were relieved. Urandy's Celsinho da Rocha got his second yellow card of the match in the 96th minute. The referee ordered Celsinho da Rocha off the ground. After 97 played minutes Urandy got a freekick which was hit by Celsinho da Rocha. SportClub Laranja Mecanic's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
