With a little luck, Olympus's José Maria Nascimento got control of the ball when Wilton Ramalho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Caetano Mendonça showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rui Braga in the 32nd minute of the match. Serafim Mangueira lost his temper 33 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. A collision led to Olympus getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Giovanni Guimarães hit a great ball. In the 37th minute of the match Lucas Pereira sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but José Maria Nascimento skillfully saved the ball. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Olympus's goalkeeper José Maria Nascimento, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Giovanni Guimarães fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Olympus's protests and gave Giovanni Guimarães a yellow card for diving instead. In the 62nd minute Rui Braga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Caetano Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 70 minutes into the game, Olympus's Giovanni Guimarães nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. The tension between the Otto Clube and the Olympus players grew even worse after the yellow card. Behiç Erkinay who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 87thth minute tested the skills of Caetano Mendonça when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
