Serginho Batista's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ramón Toscano firmly grabbed it by the left post. 23 minutes into the match, MelissaMel's goal looked a bit too open when Dudu Meireles came free, but Ramón Toscano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 26 minutes, Diego Borges managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MelissaMel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diego Borges was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 35th minute by Luisão Marquez got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 38 played minutes Inter do Rio do Janeiro got a freekick which was hit by Luisão Marquez. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Diego Borges in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lino Custódio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Diego Borges recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fabinho Arruda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Diego Borges was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd match minute, MelissaMel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabinho Arruda to maneuver through the defense. In the 70th match minute, Inter do Rio do Janeiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Arantes to maneuver through the defense. Diego Borges recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ramón Toscano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Serginho Batista's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Fabinho Arruda could shoot a difficult shot in the 85th minute, which Lino Custódio however easily saved by the left post. When MelissaMel's Diego Borges in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Inter do Rio do Janeiro's goalie prevented a goal. If Serginho Batista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 94th minute of the match Claudinei Lima shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ramón Toscano showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 96thth minute of the game Diego Borges who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Inter do Rio do Janeiro's Lino Custódio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
