In the 4th minute Geraldo Corrêa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lino Custódio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the last second Kauan Costa throw himself and got hold of the ball when Dudu Meireles in the 9thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. When Luisão Marquez fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Inter do Rio do Janeiro's protests and gave Luisão Marquez a yellow card for diving instead. After 13 played minutes Inter do Rio do Janeiro got a freekick which was hit by Luisão Marquez. Inter do Rio do Janeiro's Serginho Batista got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Otávio Galvão in the 18th minute of play forced Inter do Rio do Janeiro's goalkeeper Lino Custódio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 21st match minute, Inter do Rio do Janeiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Murillo Diniz to maneuver through the defense. In the 22nd minute, Geraldo Corrêa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lamina fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Charles Netto kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. During the 30th minute of the match Murillo Diniz completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Murillo Diniz a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 34th minute Otávio Galvão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lino Custódio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Otávio Galvão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Lino Custódio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lino Custódio came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Lamina's Geraldo Corrêa. But to his dismay, Geraldo Corrêa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Geraldo Corrêa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Lamina got a freekick which was hit by Edson Favoretto. Kauan Costa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dudu Meireles went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Duda Silveira kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Geraldo Corrêa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dudu Meireles during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Dudu Meireles hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Lamina's Carlinhos Pena couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 71st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Inter do Rio do Janeiro. Geraldo Corrêa got in the 73rd a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Lino Custódio handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Duarte Nogueira hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. In the 75th minute, Otávio Galvão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 78 minutes into the match, Serginho Batista notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Lamina's Kauan Costa. Kauan Costa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Lamina's zone, Serginho Batista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kauan Costa came out of the goal and Serginho Batista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 86th minute of the match, Otávio Galvão got a very nice opportunity to score, but Lino Custódio was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 89th minute, Sandrinho Catarinense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
