Víktor Figueiredo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Matías Loureiro made a huge save. Matías Loureiro came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Estrela da Manhã -DMZ-'s Víktor Figueiredo. But to his dismay, Víktor Figueiredo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Geovanni Mineiro came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Maxguaruja's Ismael Braga. But to his dismay, Ismael Braga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 26th minute, Gilberto Severo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Estrela da Manhã -DMZ- defense, Ismael Braga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Geovanni Mineiro. The Estrela da Manhã -DMZ- fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Geovanni Mineiro should have stopped the shot. In the 31st minute Gilberto Severo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geovanni Mineiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 34 played minutes Estrela da Manhã -DMZ- got a freekick which was hit by Ivo Bastos. Víktor Figueiredo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Matías Loureiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Maxguaruja were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Gilberto Severo made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Estrela da Manhã -DMZ-'s goalkeeper Geovanni Mineiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gilberto Severo. Antônio Carlos Hoffmann hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Geovanni Mineiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilberto Severo, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Geovanni Mineiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorginho Dias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maxguaruja's Matías Loureiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Víktor Figueiredo in the 70th minute of play. 72 minutes into the game, Délio Pimenta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Maxguaruja's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Estrela da Manhã -DMZ- the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 71st minute of the game. One of Maxguaruja:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Estrela da Manhã -DMZ-:s goal. With an all-out effort, Maxguaruja's Geovanni Mineiro threw himself towards the right post 75 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gilberto Severo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 77th minute Carlos Brasil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matías Loureiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 80th minute, Víktor Figueiredo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Estrela da Manhã -DMZ- fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. 82 minutes into the game, Ismael Braga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Maxguaruja's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Estrela da Manhã -DMZ- the free kick. In the 82nd minute, Ismael Braga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Maxguaruja's Gilberto Severo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Geovanni Mineiro. That made the score 2-4 after 86 minutes of play. Geovanni Mineiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilberto Severo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jorginho Dias could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 98th minute of the match, but Geovanni Mineiro made a huge save. The Maxguaruja players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
