A very good chance. 8 minutes into the match, Real Madruga F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Serafim Mota came free, but Gilson Vander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sants's Pedrinho Capixaba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mazinho de Barros in the 11th minute of play. In the 14th minute, Giovani Mangueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Sants's Claudinei Lira got a free kick in the 19th minute. 20 minutes into the match, Tomás Nóbrega notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Sants's Pedrinho Capixaba. Pedrinho Capixaba was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mazinho de Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedrinho Capixaba having to interfere. After 28 played minutes Sants got a freekick which was hit by Claudinei Lira. 29 minutes into the game, Serafim Mota was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sants's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Real Madruga F.C the free kick. After a rather tough play, Sants's Giovani Mangueira got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Cleiton Correia's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Gilson Vander - 1-1 was put on the score board in the 34th minute. Patrick Penha hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Emílio Tavares kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Gilson Vander acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 45th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Cleiton Correia. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Serafim Mota to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th match minute, Sants was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudinei Lira to maneuver through the defense. When Cleiton Correia fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sants's protests and gave Cleiton Correia a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Sants's Cleiton Correia got a free kick in the 58th minute. Pedrinho Capixaba stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomás Nóbrega's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. Gilson Vander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agostinho Soares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gilson Vander didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Serafim Mota went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. The supporters of Real Madruga F.C booed when Sants was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patrick Penha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Augusto Dionísio was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 75 minutes into the match. In the 77th minute Cleiton Correia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilson Vander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Agostinho Soares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 93 minutes, Claudinei Lira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sants and the Real Madruga F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 92 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Sants! The referee gave Real Madruga F.C a penalty, 95 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Arthur Donato, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Sants's Pedrinho Capixaba. 2-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Agostinho Soares in the 98th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gilson Vander prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
