An unexpectedly hard shot by Júlio Souto in the 8th minute of play forced Real Madruga F.C's goalkeeper Gilson Vander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 11th match minute, Miranga EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sílvio Luiz Bezerra to maneuver through the defense. In the 12th match minute, Miranga EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edmílson Passos to maneuver through the defense. In the 17th minute Mazinho de Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredinho Ribeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alfredinho Ribeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maicon Arósio in the 18th minute of play. Mazinho de Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Alfredinho Ribeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 27 minutes into the game, Tomás Nóbrega cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Alfredinho Ribeiro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Alfredinho Ribeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mazinho de Barros, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 33rd match minute, Miranga EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeremias Cruz to maneuver through the defense. In the 38th minute Tomás Nóbrega shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredinho Ribeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Real Madruga F.C's Emílio Tavares got a free kick in the 39th minute. Augusto Dionísio's late challenge caught a Miranga EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Augusto Dionísio helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Real Madruga F.C getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Augusto Dionísio hit a great ball. Júlio Souto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Gilson Vander made a huge save. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Tomás Nóbrega made the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Maicon Arósio took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Alfredinho Ribeiro to make any attempt to save it. Tomás Nóbrega recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Miranga EC's Alfredinho Ribeiro got control of the ball when Tomás Nóbrega tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the Real Madruga F.C defense, Dadá Dantas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gilson Vander. The Real Madruga F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gilson Vander should have stopped the shot. In the 69th minute, one of Real Madruga F.C:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Real Madruga F.C. The referee gave Miranga EC a penalty, 70 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Dadá Dantas, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Real Madruga F.C's Gilson Vander. 2-2. In the 79th minute, Júlio Souto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Miranga EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. 93 minutes into the match, Real Madruga F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Júlio Souto came free, but Gilson Vander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 95th minute of the match, Emílio Tavares tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Alfredinho Ribeiro saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Miranga EC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
