Pedrinho Capixaba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorginho Valladares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serafim Mota in the 16th minute of play forced Coringão MZ's goalkeeper Pedro Augusto Moraes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Agostinho Soares got free with Pedro Augusto Moraes in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pedro Augusto Moraes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Agostinho Soares went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. 28 minutes into the game, Sants's Doni Brito nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Coringão MZ's Pedro Augusto Moraes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giovani Mangueira in the 41st minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Serafim Mota was the one to do the kick off. Jorginho Valladares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 58 minutes into the match, Coringão MZ's goal looked a bit too open when Agostinho Soares came free, but Pedro Augusto Moraes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elói Vaz hit a great ball. There was no doubt that Sants were the better team. Sants's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
