In the 5th match minute, Chiniqua was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gildo Aguiar to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Videira AD's zone, Gildo Aguiar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dênis de Souza came out of the goal and Gildo Aguiar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Chiniqua booed when Videira AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marquinhos Mesquita didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dênis de Souza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gildo Aguiar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. André Maia made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 11thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Dênis de Souza would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. André Maia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Dênis de Souza made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Chiniqua's zone, Nico Rossi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geovânio Mendonça came out of the goal and Nico Rossi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gildo Aguiar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Nico Rossi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Videira AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Nico Rossi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Geovânio Mendonça breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Geovânio Mendonça showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nico Rossi in the 26th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nico Rossi in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Geovânio Mendonça prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a little luck, Videira AD's Dênis de Souza got control of the ball when André Maia tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Nico Rossi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Geovânio Mendonça was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nico Rossi to strike the kick off in the second half. Lucas Dionísio took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 52nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dênis de Souza. Videira AD's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 52nd minute, Maurinho Carneiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 55 played minutes Videira AD got a freekick which was hit by Maurinho Carneiro. Videira AD's Dênis de Souza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gildo Aguiar in the 56th minute of play. Bruno Ortiz's late challenge caught a Videira AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After 76 played minutes Chiniqua got a freekick which was hit by André Maia. Geovânio Mendonça made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marquinhos Mesquita in the 85th minute. Gildo Aguiar was shown his second yellow card after 86 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 86th minute, Gildo Aguiar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If André Maia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Wilton de Barros came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Chiniqua fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wilton de Barros couldn't finish the play. 93 minutes into the game, André Maia cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Dênis de Souza was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Videira AD supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Videira AD would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
