Kauã Cruz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Grêmio Reitoria F.C getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Marco Antunes hit a great ball. 6 minutes into the game, Matas FC's Charles Hermes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Garcilaso Cabanela made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. A collision led to Matas FC getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Charles Hermes hit a great ball. After 15 minutes of play, Matas FC's Charles Hermes made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Garcilaso Cabanela was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 19th minute, Marco Antunes reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dagoberto Marinho. The goal made the score 1-2. 22 minutes into the game, Marco Antunes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Grêmio Reitoria F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Matas FC the free kick. A collision led to Grêmio Reitoria F.C getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Marco Antunes hit a great ball. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Matas FC's goalkeeper Dagoberto Marinho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kauã Cruz in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dagoberto Marinho saved Matas FC from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Matas FC's zone, Kauã Cruz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dagoberto Marinho came out of the goal and Kauã Cruz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Garcilaso Cabanela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Charles Hermes in the 32nd minute of the match. Dagoberto Marinho made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Kauã Cruz sent off a good shot on target. In the 36th match minute, Grêmio Reitoria F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flavio Evani to maneuver through the defense. Aivar Annast shot a long shot in the 37th minute and a light blocked Garcilaso Cabanela hadn't a chance when the ball went into goal on his right side. It was 1-3. Dagoberto Marinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kauã Cruz, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Luisito Oton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Garcilaso Cabanela tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Manuel de Castro to strike the kick off in the second half. Garcilaso Cabanela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charles Hermes in the 58th minute of play. When Edgar Sabóia fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Grêmio Reitoria F.C's protests and gave Edgar Sabóia a yellow card for diving instead. In the 64th match minute, Grêmio Reitoria F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgar Sabóia to maneuver through the defense. Manuel de Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Garcilaso Cabanela having to interfere. In the 77th minute, Kauã Cruz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 83 minutes into the game, Álvaro Nascimento threw the ball into play from the sideline. Grêmio Reitoria F.C's Marco Antunes quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. When Charles Hermes came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Matas FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Charles Hermes couldn't finish the play. 89 minutes into the match, Grêmio Reitoria F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Charles Hermes came free, but Garcilaso Cabanela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. It was a well-played corner which Luisito Oton managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Garcilaso Cabanela was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Charles Hermes showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-4 in the 93 minute of play. When the match was over Matas FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Grêmio Reitoria F.C throughout the match.
