The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hortêncio Coelho charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hortêncio Coelho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 2nd minute of the game. One of Falcão:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Brelinho:s goal. The referee gave Brelinho a penalty, 3 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by José Maria Prestes, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Falcão's Glauco Quadros. 0-1. Brelinho's Yuri Trancoso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Brelinho from getting a goal against them. In the 7th minute, Sunar Argadinata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 8th minute, Telmo Barral sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Brelinho's Yuri Trancoso didn't even have to move. Doni Vinhas made in the 10th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Falcão's Narciso Alagoano. In the 16th minute, Falcão's Délio Berger ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Yuri Trancoso. Yuri Trancoso yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Telmo Barral kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Yuri Trancoso. That made the score 2-1 in the 19 minute of play. Délio Berger succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-1 in the 22nd playminute. Yuri Trancoso was a little too slow when Renan Siqueira got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 26th minute. The score was now 4-1. 29 minutes into the match, Brelinho's goal looked a bit too open when Telmo Barral came free, but Yuri Trancoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Falcão getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Hortêncio Coelho hit a great ball. Yuri Trancoso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Renan Siqueira went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for José Maria Prestes to strike the kick off in the second half. Jardel Coelho kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. 55 minutes into the match, Brelinho's goal looked a bit too open when Délio Berger came free, but Yuri Trancoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 57 minutes into the match, Délio Berger had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Yuri Trancoso. Brelinho's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Délio Berger was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-1. Glauco Quadros made an important save on a dangerous shot by José Maria Prestes in the 67th minute. In the 70th minute Délio Berger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yuri Trancoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Glauco Quadros made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Reynaldo de Barros sent off a good shot on target. It was beautiful to see Falcão's Telmo Barral in action when he in the 79th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Yuri Trancoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Délio Berger, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Narciso Alagoano in the 82nd minute of play forced Brelinho's goalkeeper Yuri Trancoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 90 minutes into the match, Renan Siqueira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Yuri Trancoso. Yuri Trancoso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-1. Falcão's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
