A collision led to Real Madrid getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Ramón Borges hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Manhumirim's zone, João Vítor Dracena stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vágner Tróia came out of the goal and João Vítor Dracena tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. João Vítor Dracena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Vágner Tróia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If João Vítor Dracena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 46 minutes into the match, Carlinhos Palmeira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Yan Simão. Real Madrid's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carlinhos Palmeira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carlinhos Palmeira made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers João Vítor Dracena in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vágner Tróia saved Manhumirim from getting behind. Vágner Tróia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Paulo da Silveira in the 73rd minute of the match. Manhumirim's Vágner Tróia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Paulo da Silveira in the 86th minute of play. Bruno Macedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
