In the 8thth minute of the game Wanderson Rossi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but União Cedrense FSCMZ's Delfim Monteiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Desportiva Ferroviaria-ES's Ulisses Salles got a free kick in the 9th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Telmo Matos got free with Julio César in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 14th minute, União Cedrense FSCMZ's Telmo Matos dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. 18 minutes into the match, José Valladares dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Julio César, 2-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ulisses Salles during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of União Cedrense FSCMZ booed when Desportiva Ferroviaria-ES was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ulisses Salles didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wilian Galvão kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. After 23 played minutes, Desportiva Ferroviaria-ES's Luiz Guilherme Araújo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Delfim Monteiro came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Desportiva Ferroviaria-ES reached it. 27 minutes into the game, Gil Reis threw the ball into play from the sideline. Desportiva Ferroviaria-ES's Luizão Saraiva quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Delfim Monteiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luizão Saraiva in the 27th minute of play. In the 32nd match minute, Desportiva Ferroviaria-ES was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amauri Couto to maneuver through the defense. Desportiva Ferroviaria-ES's defense didn't have a chance, in the 36th minute, when Telmo Matos scored to the left of an out of position Julio César, making the score, 3-0. Rubens Santos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Julio César made a huge save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

52 minutes into the game, José Valladares cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Julio César was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to União Cedrense FSCMZ getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Alfredo Costa hit a great ball. Nico De la Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Delfim Monteiro having to interfere. 61 minutes into the match, Desportiva Ferroviaria-ES's goal looked a bit too open when Telmo Matos came free, but Julio César reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio César showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Fernando Meira, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Desportiva Ferroviaria-ES's attentive Chicão de Senna managed to snatch the ball when Wesley Cunha made a throw-in in the 66th minute of the game. After 70 played minutes Desportiva Ferroviaria-ES got a freekick which was hit by Ulisses Salles. Wanderson Rossi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Delfim Monteiro having to make a save. The throw-in from Fabinho Motta in the 75th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Desportiva Ferroviaria-ES's Luizão Saraiva. Ulisses Salles got his second yellow card in the match during the 77th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 78th minute, Ulisses Salles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 86 minutes into the match, Desportiva Ferroviaria-ES's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Fernando Meira came free, but Julio César reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 87th minute Telmo Matos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio César saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 88 minutes into the match, Desportiva Ferroviaria-ES's goal looked a bit too open when José Valladares came free, but Julio César reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee ended the match the União Cedrense FSCMZ players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
