In the 18th minute Cristiano Loureiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Krister Mossberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alfonso Scutti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Canoas Futebol Clube's Krister Mossberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Federico Cebo in the 28th minute of play. Krister Mossberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. When Mauricio Haitz fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Malinha FC's protests and gave Mauricio Haitz a yellow card for diving instead. 42 minutes into the game, Malinha FC's Tales Esteves nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Krister Mossberg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. The referee gave Malinha FC a penalty, 46 minutes into the game. The wind increased when Tales Esteves made the kick off in the second half.
