When Dinei Berger came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Pomerode FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dinei Berger couldn't finish the play. 26 minutes into the game, Wiliam de Mendonça was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CRUZEIRO ESPORTE CLUBE's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pomerode FC the free kick. In the 26th minute, Wiliam de Mendonça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Shannon Barnard showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Luís Silva in the 27th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Pomerode FC's Dudu Romero got a free kick in the 29th minute. After 30 played minutes Pomerode FC got a freekick which was hit by Dudu Romero. In the 31st minute, Pomerode FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Agostinho Munhoz fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Baltazar Silva stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Erasmo Furlan's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. Shannon Barnard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dinei Berger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Erasmo Furlan to strike the kick off in the second half. When Wiliam de Mendonça was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 50 minutes had been played. The supporters of Pomerode FC booed when CRUZEIRO ESPORTE CLUBE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wiliam de Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dinei Berger could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Shannon Barnard made a huge save. Erasmo Furlan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baltazar Silva having to interfere. Dinei Berger's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 61stth minute, Shannon Barnard skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. CRUZEIRO ESPORTE CLUBE's Shannon Barnard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Luís Silva in the 65th minute of play. Shannon Barnard showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Luís Silva in the 73rd minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Amílton Torres during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Erasmo Furlan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Erasmo Furlan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dinei Berger got free with Shannon Barnard in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Baltazar Silva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erasmo Furlan in the 92nd minute of the match. In the 94th minute, Dinei Berger fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Shannon Barnard, passed just outside the right post. Chants of Pomerode FC echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as CRUZEIRO ESPORTE CLUBE had held the ball for most of the match.
