In the 31st minute, Nilton Valadares ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wiliam Arantes was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 33rd minute, Benjamin Nóbrega hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Comandante EC getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Pedro Paulo Pombal hit a great ball. Gugu Amaral's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Sebastian Pueblo firmly grabbed it by the left post. Cícero Cearense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cícero Cearense in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wiliam Arantes saved Comandante EC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cícero Cearense in the 46th minute of play forced Comandante EC's goalkeeper Wiliam Arantes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Reis do Cortes were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Alfredão Carneiro made the kick off in the second half. Alfredão Carneiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Sebastian Pueblo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Comandante EC booed when Reis do Cortes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cássio Marques didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 54th minute Gugu Amaral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastian Pueblo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 56 minutes into the match, Comandante EC's goal looked a bit too open when Nilton Valadares came free, but Wiliam Arantes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gugu Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastian Pueblo having to interfere. After some careless play in the Reis do Cortes defense, Alfredão Carneiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sebastian Pueblo. The Reis do Cortes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sebastian Pueblo should have stopped the shot. Gugu Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastian Pueblo having to interfere. Felippe do Nascimento took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 77th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Wiliam Arantes. Comandante EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 79 minutes into the match, Comandante EC's goalkeeper Wiliam Arantes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felippe do Nascimento. Sebastian Pueblo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alfredão Carneiro went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Gugu Amaral might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sebastian Pueblo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gugu Amaral ran back to his position shaking his head. The throw-in from Magno Urbano in the 91st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Reis do Cortes's Aílton Borges. Reis do Cortes's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
