The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dino Valle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reynaldo Gerber, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The nice shot from Jorginho de Andrade in the 15thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Dino Valle had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. After 16 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Mendonca! In the 17th minute there was a penalty for Aruak S.C.. Gonçalo Brito stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Dino Valle. 1-0. Dino Valle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reynaldo Gerber, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 22nd minute Reynaldo Gerber shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dino Valle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, Mendonca's goal looked a bit too open when Reynaldo Gerber came free, but Dino Valle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Aruak S.C.'s Jorginho de Andrade slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dino Valle. That made the score 2-0 after 28 minutes of play. The supporters of Mendonca booed when Aruak S.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mazinho Albuquerque didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dino Valle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reynaldo Gerber, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 3-0 became the score in the 45th minute when Reynaldo Gerber elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Clemente Montenegro was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Aruak S.C.'s Reynaldo Gerber nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dino Valle made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Cristiano Sousa kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Reynaldo Gerber in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dino Valle prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Reynaldo Gerber took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dino Valle. Dino Valle dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. In the 69thth minute of the game Jorginho de Andrade who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mendonca's Dino Valle was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 70 minutes into the match, Mendonca's goal looked a bit too open when Jorginho de Andrade came free, but Dino Valle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cléber Nunes's late challenge caught a Aruak S.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cléber Nunes helped the player get up and apologised. Cléber Nunes kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. After 77 played minutes Aruak S.C. got a freekick which was hit by Jorginho de Andrade. Jorginho de Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 89th minute Aruak S.C. were awarded a corner. Gonçalo Brito went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Jorginho de Andrade heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Dino Valle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reynaldo Gerber, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Aruak S.C.'s Edu Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clemente Montenegro in the 94th minute of play.
