Spectators: 7506 (Terracing: 5630, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 150) Aruak S.C.'s Jorginho de Andrade started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Serginho de Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Edu Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 8 played minutes Aruak S.C. got a freekick which was hit by Jorginho de Andrade. Hudson Damião fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edu Medeiros having to interfere. 13 minutes into the match, Aruak S.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Hudson Damião came free, but Edu Medeiros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jorginho de Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Aníbal Leal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chatuba FC's Aníbal Leal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reynaldo Gerber in the 17th minute of play. Chatuba FC's Hudson Damião got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Serginho de Sena in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edu Medeiros prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Aruak S.C.'s Edu Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hudson Damião in the 22nd minute of play. In the 23rd minute, Tostão Carioca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 24 minutes into the match, Chatuba FC's Dadá Bittencourt broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 27th minute, one of Aruak S.C.:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Aruak S.C.. Aruak S.C.:s Edu Medeiros showed great skill when he stopped Dadá Bittencourt:s penalty. A collision led to Aruak S.C. getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Mazinho Albuquerque hit a great ball. Edu Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Serginho de Sena, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. After 33 minutes, Reynaldo Gerber made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Chatuba FC's Aníbal Leal tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Serginho de Sena's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edu Medeiros was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. 43 minutes into the match, Chatuba FC's Serginho de Sena sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edu Medeiros narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 46th minute Serginho de Sena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edu Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Reynaldo Gerber kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Aníbal Leal. That made the score 2-0 in the 48 minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Aruak S.C.'s Edu Medeiros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Aruak S.C. from getting a goal against them. After 60 played minutes Chatuba FC got a freekick which was hit by Thiago Branco. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hudson Damião in the 62nd minute of play forced Aruak S.C.'s goalkeeper Edu Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorginho de Andrade in the 63rd minute of play forced Chatuba FC's goalkeeper Aníbal Leal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aruak S.C.'s Jorginho de Andrade got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Serginho de Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st match minute, Aruak S.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerson Mangueira to maneuver through the defense. Edu Medeiros came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Chatuba FC's Hudson Damião. But to his dismay, Hudson Damião quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 87thth minute of the game Jorginho de Andrade who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chatuba FC's Aníbal Leal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 89 minutes into the match, Serginho de Sena notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Aruak S.C.'s Edu Medeiros. Edu Medeiros was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Serginho de Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hudson Damião in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edu Medeiros prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Aníbal Leal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reynaldo Gerber, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
