In the 4th minute Luís Fernando Barreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastião Fernandes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 8 minutes into the match, Antônio Cavalcante notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Sporting Malvinas's Breno Freire. Breno Freire was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 15 minutes into the match, Vilfes FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jardel Perez came free, but Sebastião Fernandes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sebastião Fernandes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Fernando Barreto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Nilton Sampaio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zézinho de Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 27 minutes into the game, Luiz Gustavo Bittencourt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vilfes FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sporting Malvinas the free kick. The supporters of Sporting Malvinas booed when Vilfes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Gustavo Bittencourt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sebastião Fernandes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jardel Perez's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. In the 32nd minute, Vilfes FC's Eduardo Sabóia seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Eduardo Sabóia the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Vilfes FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Eduardo Sabóia had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 31st minute, one of Vilfes FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Vilfes FC. In the 35th minute, Lucas Cavalcante hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sebastião Fernandes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nilton Sampaio in the 37th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Fernando Barreto in the 38th minute of play forced Vilfes FC's goalkeeper Sebastião Fernandes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sebastião Fernandes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nilton Sampaio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sebastião Fernandes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Afonso Santos went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Antônio Cavalcante to strike the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Sporting Malvinas's Nilton Sampaio slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sebastião Fernandes. That made the score 1-3 after 53 minutes of play. 60 minutes into the match, Vilfes FC's goalkeeper Sebastião Fernandes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luís Fernando Barreto. Sebastião Fernandes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Afonso Santos in the 63rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Sporting Malvinas's Jonas Netto got a free kick in the 64th minute. Sebastião Fernandes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nilton Sampaio in the 74th minute of play. Lucas Cavalcante hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Silvinho de Amorim hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Marcos Urbano hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Sporting Malvinas's zone, Lucas Cavalcante stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Breno Freire came out of the goal and Lucas Cavalcante tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristóvão Jacinto in the 90th minute of play forced Sporting Malvinas's goalkeeper Breno Freire to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luís Fernando Barreto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Sebastião Fernandes made a huge save. Jardel Perez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sporting Malvinas played a much better game than Vilfes FC and deserved their victory. The Vilfes FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
