The audience thought a goal was coming when Zézinho de Barros got free with Clóvis Mota in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 17 played minutes Vilfes FC got a freekick which was hit by Gernando Souza. MARINOS F. C.'s Clóvis Mota proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save MARINOS F. C. from getting a goal against them. In the 29th match minute, Vilfes FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gernando Souza to maneuver through the defense. Joel Teixeira hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, MARINOS F. C.'s Falcão Coelho got a free kick in the 35th minute. Zézinho de Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Clóvis Mota tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 41st match minute, MARINOS F. C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emerson Motta to maneuver through the defense. Zézinho de Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Clóvis Mota tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 58th minute Cristóvão Jacinto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clóvis Mota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Clóvis Mota showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zézinho de Barros in the 65th minute of the match. When Zézinho de Barros came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Vilfes FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zézinho de Barros couldn't finish the play. After 74 minutes of play, Vilfes FC's Antônio Cavalcante made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Clóvis Mota was left in no man's land by his defense there! 76 minutes into the game, Zézinho de Barros cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Clóvis Mota was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Vilfes FC's Antônio Cavalcante got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 85 minutes into the match, Lucas Cavalcante notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of MARINOS F. C.'s Clóvis Mota. Clóvis Mota was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. MARINOS F. C.'s Clóvis Mota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zézinho de Barros in the 91st minute of play. Laércio Massa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sebastião Fernandes having to make a save. In the 96th minute, Laércio Massa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MARINOS F. C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. Vilfes FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
