The audience thought a goal was coming when Jean Albuquerque got free with André Sena in the 2nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 4 played minutes BARRANCA FC got a freekick which was hit by William Gaspar. Silas Esteves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to BARRANCA FC getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Pedro Augusto Pereira hit a great ball. Marcelo Sousa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fred França's late challenge caught a Uruguaiana's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fred França helped the player get up and apologised. After 15 played minutes BARRANCA FC got a freekick which was hit by Fred França. Luís Fabiano Mattos succeeded in the game's 17th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Luís Fabiano Mattos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Uruguaiana's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Fabiano Mattos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hílton Meirelles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Faustão Mesquita lost his temper 31 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in BARRANCA FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 30th minute. Penalty! Luís Fabiano Mattos shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Víktor Catarinense charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The shot was stopped by André Sena but with some difficulty. After 36 played minutes BARRANCA FC got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Augusto Pereira. Hílton Meirelles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo Sousa in the 39th minute of play. After the first half Uruguaiana were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jean Albuquerque to make the kick off. Fabrício Pombal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 53rd minute Jean Albuquerque shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Sena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 54 minutes, Fabrício Pombal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Uruguaiana and the BARRANCA FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 54 played minutes Uruguaiana got a freekick which was hit by Fabrício Pombal. Hílton Meirelles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabrício Pombal in the 60th minute of the match. Marcelo Sousa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Hílton Meirelles came out and tried to block the shot, but Marcelo Sousa slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 65th minute. Uruguaiana's Aníbal Varela was substituted for Luís Fabiano Mattos. After 71 played minutes Uruguaiana got a freekick which was hit by Aníbal Varela. The supporters of BARRANCA FC booed when Uruguaiana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorginho Britto didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 78th minute, William Gaspar made a precise shot to the right of André Sena. Uruguaiana's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. In the 86th match minute, BARRANCA FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fred França to maneuver through the defense. After 90 minutes of play, Uruguaiana's Aníbal Varela made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hílton Meirelles was left in no man's land by his defense there! Marquinhos Diniz struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Hílton Meirelles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uruguaiana. In the 95th match minute, BARRANCA FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jean Albuquerque to maneuver through the defense. Uruguaiana's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
