Rafa Aparecido might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Flávio Alves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rafa Aparecido ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in I-L-U-D-I-D-O-S fckclub's zone, Magno Paraense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elói Taffarel came out of the goal and Magno Paraense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Beremundo Ochandiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flávio Alves having to interfere. Magno Paraense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Elói Taffarel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rafa Aparecido struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Flávio Alves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for I-L-U-D-I-D-O-S fckclub. In the 33rd minute Caco Travassos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elói Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Flávio Alves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafa Aparecido, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. The audience was convinced that Magno Paraense's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Elói Taffarel was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. Batateiros Sport Club's attentive Paulo Renato Custódio managed to snatch the ball when Beremundo Ochandiano made a throw-in in the 55th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rafa Aparecido in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Flávio Alves saved Batateiros Sport Club from getting behind. In the 59th minute, Abelardo Carneiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 69th minute, Rafa Aparecido got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafa Aparecido in the 71st minute of play forced Batateiros Sport Club's goalkeeper Flávio Alves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
