If Albino Steven had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donato Guerra in the 16th minute of play forced Nome do Time's goalkeeper Pål Rudkvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 18th minute, Geraldo de Godoi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Geraldo de Godoi struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Pål Rudkvist didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Taquaral Campineiro. The Taquaral Campineiro fans' excitement grew in the 22nd match minute when Taquaral Campineiro's Geraldo de Godoi looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Pål Rudkvist came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Taquaral Campineiro's Albino Steven. But to his dismay, Albino Steven quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. In the 35th minute Geraldo de Godoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pål Rudkvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 37 minutes, the score became 0-5 when Geraldo de Godoi sped through Nome do Time's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Pål Rudkvist. The Taquaral Campineiro fans' excitement grew in the 39th match minute when Taquaral Campineiro's Geraldo de Godoi looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-6 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Pål Rudkvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geraldo de Godoi in the 43rd minute of play. After having played for 44 minutes, Ahmed Chipo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nome do Time's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ahmed Chipo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Albino Steven came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Taquaral Campineiro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Albino Steven couldn't finish the play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-6 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Geraldo de Godoi to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Gilvan de Toledo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Geraldo de Godoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Pål Rudkvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Geraldo de Godoi in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pål Rudkvist prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a little luck, Nome do Time's Pål Rudkvist got control of the ball when Albino Steven tried to sneak it across the goal line. 70 minutes had been played when some careless play by Nome do Time's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ramón Leme was slow to take the kick. During this time Taquaral Campineiro's players had a chance to rest. With his leg Pål Rudkvist managed to avoid a goal in the 73rdth minute, when Taquaral Campineiro's Geraldo de Godoi fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Nome do Time's Pål Rudkvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geraldo de Godoi in the 78th minute of play. Pål Rudkvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donato Guerra in the 82nd minute of play. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Nome do Time's goalkeeper Pål Rudkvist, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tales Furlan during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
