Cachinaoa EC's Dadá Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luizinho Loyola in the 3rd minute of play. 4 minutes into the match, Areia FC's goalkeeper Eriberto do Valle had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pedro Augusto Severo. Pedro Augusto Severo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Eriberto do Valle came out and tried to block the shot, but Pedro Augusto Severo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 14th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Kléberson Arce dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Eriberto do Valle, 2-0. If Dorian Trigo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 33 minutes into the match, Areia FC's José Hames sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dadá Costa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 34 minutes into the match, Cachinaoa EC's goal looked a bit too open when Luizinho Loyola came free, but Dadá Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th minute, Dorian Trigo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dadá Costa was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. In the 46th match minute, Areia FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luizinho Loyola to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dorian Trigo made a kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Dorian Trigo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dadá Costa. That made the score 2-2 in the 54 minute of play. Luizinho Loyola could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Dadá Costa made a huge save. With a little luck, Cachinaoa EC's Dadá Costa got control of the ball when Luizinho Loyola tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dadá Costa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cacá Tróia in the 61st minute. When the match clock showed 66 minutes, the score became 3-2 when Kléberson Arce sped through Areia FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Eriberto do Valle. Areia FC's Eriberto do Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joélson Sarmento in the 70th minute of play. During the 71st minute of the match Luizinho Loyola completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Luizinho Loyola a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 71st minute, Luizinho Loyola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Dorian Trigo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eriberto do Valle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kiko Tavares in the 77th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Kléberson Arce managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cachinaoa EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Kléberson Arce was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eriberto do Valle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Areia FC's José Hames got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 93rd minute, Eliseu Castro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cacá Tróia was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 95 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Cachinaoa EC had won after a very even match.
