Dida de Mendonça came out and tried to block the shot, but Percival Prata slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 3rd minute. In the 5th match minute, Coringão was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dagoberto Dionísio to maneuver through the defense. 6 minutes into the match, Gears of War MZT's Percival Prata sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dida de Mendonça narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Coringão's Armandinho Mineiro got a free kick in the 7th minute. 10 minutes into the match, Luiz Fernando Lara notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Gears of War MZT's Elano Motta. Elano Motta was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Hudson Abreu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dida de Mendonça having to interfere. In the 17th minute Erik Linhares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elano Motta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elano Motta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Fernando Lara, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. In the 24thth minute of the game Luiz Fernando Lara who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gears of War MZT's Elano Motta was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Luiz Fernando Lara's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Elano Motta was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Coringão's Dagoberto Dionísio got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Gears of War MZT getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Elano Peixoto hit a great ball. Luiz Fernando Lara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Elano Motta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Fernando Lara in the 29th minute of the match. Elano Peixoto hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Gears of War MZT's Elano Motta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dagoberto Dionísio in the 32nd minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Hudson Abreu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Elano Motta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dagoberto Dionísio, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Elano Motta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Fernando Lara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 44 minutes, Luiz Fernando Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Coringão's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Fernando Lara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hudson Abreu to make the kick off. Hudson Abreu succeeded in the game's 52nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. With a little luck, Gears of War MZT's Elano Motta got control of the ball when Luiz Fernando Lara tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 60th minute, Dagoberto Dionísio fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Elano Motta, passed just outside the right post. Pedrinho Guimarães kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Elano Motta was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Erik Linhares. If Erik Linhares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erik Linhares kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. If Percival Prata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 81 minutes into the match, Coringão's goal looked a bit too open when Hudson Abreu came free, but Dida de Mendonça reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elano Motta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dagoberto Dionísio in the 82nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hudson Abreu in the 93rd minute of play forced Coringão's goalkeeper Dida de Mendonça to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dagoberto Dionísio hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. In the 96th minute, Hudson Abreu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gears of War MZT fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1.
