In the 13th minute Leonel Alves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dito de Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dito de Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Francisco Brito in the 20th minute of play. After some careless play in the Porvir defense, Paulinho das Neves kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dito de Barros. The Porvir fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dito de Barros should have stopped the shot. After 27 played minutes Team Aqua got a freekick which was hit by Enéas Guerra. Richard Baptista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eurico Macedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Dalmo Félix's late challenge caught a Team Aqua's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dalmo Félix helped the player get up and apologised. Dalmo Félix kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. 37 minutes into the match, Porvir's goal looked a bit too open when João Francisco Brito came free, but Dito de Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Team Aqua getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Enéas Guerra hit a great ball. In the 45th minute, João Francisco Brito left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Team Aqua fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eurico Macedo to make the kick off. Cristiano Macedo's late challenge caught a Team Aqua's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Porvir's zone, Leonel Alves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dito de Barros came out of the goal and Leonel Alves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leonel Alves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dito de Barros having to interfere. João Francisco Brito did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-5 to the left of a surprised Dito de Barros 65 minutes into the match. Enéas Guerra kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. In the 71st minute, Carlos Maciel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Bruno Valladares came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Porvir fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bruno Valladares couldn't finish the play. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Enéas Guerra couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Carlos Maciel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Porvir's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlos Maciel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Richard Baptista breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
